ciao...with alexa

An avid believer of you should design your own character of life before life decides it for you. Meet Alexa, a 21 year social media strategist, founder of Kulot’s Space and marketing student figuring it all out.

Marketing always came easy to Alexa but she never realised it until a small suggestion from her teacher in university nudged her to explore business but with a specific major of marketing. When asked about were there signs that you were into personal branding while growing up, she couldn’t figure it out where it all started. Was it because of making anime edits for fun or watching youtube videos? As she says, she grew up having specific niche interests and that’s where it all began.

If you asked her younger self, will she make cool videos in the future and own a company? She’d probably say no. She didn’t plan for it but the dream kept calling her in hushed voices and gladly she listened. 

Silently, she applied for a volunteering role for creating short form content without letting a soul know. She wanted to create, edit and experiment with social media without the expectations and questions from others. 

So, she did.

She made videos. She edited. She brainstormed. She wrote captions. She was doing it and best of all, she loved what she was doing.

It was scary. She didn’t have any experience before but the thrill of new videos and the passion for becoming better at it, she started making videos for the city of Antwerp. She started betting on herself and the odds turned out in her favour because she made sure her skills showed her caliber. And they did. And the world saw it all.

Working through the whole summer, finding student jobs for social media and experimenting with new styles, she started thinking whether she should consider being a student entrepreneur. Maybe it’s too soon. Maybe it’s too late.

But when looking back on her own journey, Alexa realised that in the span of a year, she learned what she liked and wanted to make it her full-time job. She found what she loves. Not once has her work been sloppy as she wanted to always connect with her audience and bring her best work upfront.

She knew she could do it.

So, she took another chance.

She started Kulot’s space. A name which brings memories. A name given by her own family to her. A name highlighting her curly hair. A name signifying that she was always meant to stand out. So, this is her taking the stage and following the spotlight. 

Kulot’s space is just the beginning. Her plan is to make videos which leave you with emotions on the surface and movies which talk about the issues bigger than us. 

And this is the story of how Alexa began running her own social media agency. And as she says, Ciao and walks away with ignited passion.
